Growth Requires New Heights…Ready?

So I started the week with this tweet:
“Good Morning! NEW WEEK NEW HEIGHTS…challenging myself to live BEYOND…learning, doing, being MORE & BETTER! Are you with me?”
Many responded; some of you take regular journeys with me so you know we have fun, and that I always push beyond what’s comfy…this is no different, so here we go…
The challenge for me was out of demand.
You see, along with having recently relocated back to my home town, New Orleans, getting re-acclimated (not just to a new city, but a very changed city) and adapting my personal growth speaking/training business (www.zaragreen.com), I just partnered in a Video Production Company in which the cart was off and running waaaaaaay before the horse. If you’ve been paying attention, you know it’s just my speed, LOL!
Let’s just say, I’m playing catch up on all the things you “careful people” must have in place before you step out…but it’s NOT who I am and certainly not my speed 😉
NEW WEEK NEW HEIGHTS
Demand is now dictating my actions. From my perspective I have 2 choices: Effectively Respond or Create Excuses.
I love this quote…author unknown, “Excuses are the tools of the incompetent which builds monuments into nothing; those who specialize in them are seldom good at anything else.” Wish I’d said it, tehee!
I first heard this quote in the mid 90’s and memorized it, posted at my desk, kept a copy in my wallet, and put it in the mirrors of my bedroom and bathroom ‘til eventually I convinced myself that I had to be totally accountable, or by default I’d become an Excuse Specialist.
The way I see it…to every challenge that life presents I only have one choice – effectively respond.
“…live BEYOND…learning, doing, being MORE & BETTER!”
B-a-b-y (in my very New Orleans twang), I’m clear about my talents and they are SO aligned with audio & video production that I’m also confident, that “incompetent”, I ain’t – so I know I won’t contribute anything to that monument.
It’s why all of my training is individuality based…you have to know who you are, your natural talents, what you do effortlessly… and align THAT with “WHAT IS”. AFTER you’ve done that…trust the process.
In a twonversation (twitter conversation, lol) earlier today, my tweep @jazzyladee1908 was checking on me (they know how busy I’ve been) and she said, “If it were easy, there wldnt be a recession. Hard work pays! However, I believe u working smart & not hard! ;-)”
I replied, “G-i-r-l…sometimes in that learning curve it’s hard, LOL!!! I’m getting smarter everyday though :)”
This is part of MY living BEYOND…learning, doing being MORE & BETTER! I certainly don’t know all there is to know about producing and running a video production company. I’ve been around production since I was a teenager but, B-a-b-y, this is new territory. I’ve had some successes already and all I see are opportunities.
You can’t be afraid, not even now with all of the external crap going on around you.
You’ve heard me say this before…the ONLY thing you have the ability to ABSOLUTELY control, is the stuff that goes on between your ears, and that takes practice. Excuses can not be an option. Okay?
My Twiend, @jazzyladee1908, ended our twonversation with this (in 140 characters), “Having a good understanding of where you are is smart. Most don’t even know they in a learning curve. Recipe 4 disaster! U good!”
BEYOND ~ MORE ~ BETTER…I DARE YOU 😉
Your Turn…Now tell me your challenge and how you are/will go beyond, learn more and do better.
NEXT Decision…BETTER than your LAST 😉
