The Serenity Challenge: How NOT to take anything personally – Day 1

HOORAY to you for taking The Serenity Challenge!

SerenitySerenity: the state or quality of being serene, calm, or tranquil. The complete opposite of “agitation.”

Now that we’re clear about the definition, let’s start with a point of reference that we’ve all heard…The Serenity Prayer.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things that I can not change.
The courage to change the things that I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Few points:
1. Qualities are developed, not innate, so in this case “agitation” is your default state.
2. The serenity to accept the things you can not change will be based on what you do to develop serene, calm, tranquil qualities.
3. Courage will be made available as you develop serenity.
4. Wisdom doesn’t fall from thin air, it is created from a serene mind and what you learn from the courageous actions you take.

Here’s the ultimate lesson…Serenity is a Choice.
