Is Your Thinking Creating Your Life’s Challenges?

Every life is governed by philosophies – things that you allow to dictate your life: what is right, how you should live (even how you think others should live), how to raise your children, etc.

Philosophy is defined in many ways – one is, a set of ideas or beliefs that create fundamental assumptions.

You're Driving!

How you THINK about your challenges in life could be making them more difficult.

Since life is ever-changing, it’s a good idea to have some “philosophical flexibility” which will enable you to align your philosophies with the changes your life presents, rather than trying to force your beliefs upon that which you have no control.

There are 3 philosophies that I’ve allowed to govern my existence and they always serve me, brilliantly:

  1. Life Happens…Life Does Not Happen TO me
  2. My Experiences are Purposeful and Intended to Prepare Me
  3. The Key to My Growth is to Make My NEXT Decision…BETTER than my LAST

Here’s the kicker for these to be effective for you. You have to be ever-willing to learn more and do something different – implement what you learn which will always challenge your current philosophies.

We’re Growin’ UP…Grown IS Sexy! 😉

Now join the discussion. Leave a comment, even a personal experience. State a belief and then, briefly describe how the belief has affected an experience in your life that you now realize is what made a decision more challenging.

And if you enjoyed this post, please share it.

    BELIEF: Marriage is Forever

Spent 18 years in a miserable marriage waiting for him to become what I believed marriage meant.

I’m still working on not being a “victim” and understanding how to use this experience and not be bitter because of it. “Flexibility” in my philosophy would have helped create options for me…sooner.

    Great Post!

Thanks for posting this great article. Often, the dogma of religion has people thinking onesided and uptight. When and only when we relax these constraints and allow ourselves to “believe” intuitively are we able to express our truest selves.

Looking forward to participating more on “my” forum. Thanks

    Leanne & Coach Marie

You both make valid & very similar points. Some philosophies can slant your perception of what you’re experiencing, thus staunt your personal growth.

Leanne, I’m glad you found the courage to leave and please know that you can also find the courage to, now truly live 🙂

Coach Marie…talk about courageous. It takes courage in this western world to relax religious constraints and live your own truth. 😉

It takes courage to embrace challenges and enjoy life.
